I've Been Shopping
VERY SUCCESSFULLY might I add ! The best 5 things I've bought lately
1.3k subscribers and fighting the compulsion to attach a screenshot because I still hardly believe myself without proof. I really am obsessed with it here and hope to the sweet social media gods above it’s a club I never get kicked out of !
Somehow the more subscribers that show up, the harder I find it to write. I add pressure to pick better, bigger, more wide-sweeping topics. But I’m decidedly done with that mumbo jumbo. Instead, we’re going back to the original blueprint: writing exactly what I want to read. Which on today’s episode is: the best 5 things I’ve spent money on as of late.
Before getting into it, here are the 5 best things I’ve read as of late. Posts that remind me of what’s helpful and why we come to Substack:
Ate up every word of this stripped back piece from Hadley Greene
Sorry to be a perpetual fan girl, but you already know Leandra Medine Cohen
I’ll leave you with this quote from Bottom Feeders Anonymous “When you buy into the trend via the IG influencer, you are buying into the fantasy. When you are buying into it via the Substacker, you are buying into the philosophy.”
SO WITH THAT — the best things I’ve found recently!! You know those pieces you add to your closet, find yourself wearing truly 4x a week, and stop to think “how the f*@f*! did I get dressed before I owned this?” Here are some of those:
1. St. Agni Pants

These are my new, most favorite pants. I’ve owned them for 2 weeks and have worn them just about 12 times. They are low rise, the most flattering, and such a perfect tomboy-ish juxtaposition to a girly frilly summery top. I’m addicted.
While on the topic of pants, my next fav:
2. What Goes Around Comes Around for Vintage Levis

My friend Gabby and I (hey Lucy you too, but you just sit on the chair and watch) went shopping in Soho recently and she opened my eyes to the cornucopia of vintage Levis that live in the Broom & Grand location of What Goes Around Comes Around. They have truly the best selection - there dozens upon dozens of washes in mix of 507s & 501s divided neatly by size. Both pairs above are from recent trips there.
3. My New Stationary

The only thing more fun than writing hand written notes is writing hand written notes on stationary that makes your heart FLUTTER up and down and all around.
4. The Overpriced Doen Top
Could you find a similar shirt for $200 somewhere instead of ~$400?? Yeah. But sometimes you just need to fork over the cash for the exact piece you’re drawn to. And when it comes to Doen specifically, the cost per wear will always pay off. I’ve worn this shirt no less than 26 times since buying it a month or so ago. I am deeply emotionally attached to it.
This ones next on my list.
5. Antik Batik!

After searching the internet high and low for rehearsal dinner and wedding wares (I should probably do a ‘So You Think You Can Wedding Guest’ part II…) I finally stumbled upon a (new to me) designer, Antik Batik.
I bought the pieces above, but I want the entire website please and thanks so much. You can buy through sites like Farfetch, or directly through them if you’re ok with ordering from Europe.
I hope you enjoy!!!!!
